Care & Maintenance
1095 high-carbon steel is not stainless — wipe the blade dry after use and apply a light coat of oil (mineral oil or a dedicated blade oil) to prevent surface rust. Sharpen with a whetstone or sharpening steel; 1095 responds exceptionally well to field sharpening. The powder coat finish provides corrosion resistance but should be maintained if chipped or worn.
