Buck’s defining moment came in 1964 with the 110 Folding Hunter — the first dependable, mass-produced folding lockback, strong enough for the heavier work that until then meant carrying a fixed blade. More than 15 million have sold since, making it one of the best-selling folding knives in the world. In 1972 Buck added the compact 112 Ranger, named after the USS Ranger aircraft carrier. Both are still in production and remain customer favourites today, alongside fixed-blade classics such as the 119 Special.
